About the College
Sameer Gandhi Kala Mahavidyalaya, Malshiras, is located in the rain shadow region of the eastern ranges of the Sahyadri Ghats. The institution was established on 15th July 2004 through the visionary efforts of Honorable Late Vishnupant Kulkarni, a great social worker and veteran politician, who recognized the need for higher education opportunities for the students of this rural area.
The college was initially affiliated with Shivaji University, Kolhapur, but in 2004, it became affiliated with the newly established Solapur University (now Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Solapur University), in accordance with the policy of the State Government. The college motto, “Vidya Eva Dhanam”, meaning “Knowledge is our permanent property”, reflects its commitment to the pursuit of learning and wisdom.
At its inception, the college operated from the premises of the parent institution, Shri Hanuman Shikshan Prasarak Sanstha, Malshiras. Over time, it has developed its own seven-acre campus, which features a beautiful, clean, and pollution-free environment with a well-maintained playground.
To ensure the holistic development of students, the college promotes various co-curricular and extra-curricular activities, including NSS, Sports, Cultural Programs, and Extension Services, fostering character and capacity building among learners.
In pursuit of quality assurance, the college is proud to participate in the first cycle of accreditation, reaffirming its commitment to excellence in higher education.
